Workshop Overview
Pre-Requisite Skills, Technology Requirements
Each workshop module lasts approximately 12-16 hours, depending of how much time is devoted to the hands-on, reading, and web activities. Each section within the module lasts approximately 2-3 hours (except Module 2.2 Digital Storytelling, which can last up to 3 days, depending on the digital video editing tools used). The workshop leader should decide which sections that the participants are ready to tackle.
ePortfolio Introduction - Getting started and introductions; ePortfolio Literature and creating a plan; software options and the portfolio development process; developing the digital archive (Excel); building a reflective portfolio (Word), using PowerPoint, and reflection.
ePortfolio Tools & Multimedia + Rubric Development - Looking at the following common software tools for creating ePortfolios: Acrobat, Netscape, and other optional tools such as eZedia or Lectora; creating a digital storytelling artifact using a digital video editing program such as iMovie or Pinnacle Studio; create a rubric and evaluation.
ePortfolio Publishing & Implementation Strategies - Preparing the ePortfolio for publishing in a variety of formats: CD-ROM, WWW, videotape, DVD and emerging technologies; more literature on e-portfolio research; finalize portfolio and final evaluation.
Syllabus
