The Learning Portfolio (Zubizaretta, 2004, p.20)

Lecture Notes

First, there is the learning portfolio, designed to support learning, or planning, or just document the learning process. The underlying philosophy is the phrase carved onto Greek temples, "know thyself" which has led many people to a lifetime of investigation, with Self-knowledge as a major outcome of learning. In this book, called the Learning Portfolio, the author documents many examples of learning portfolios in higher education in the U.S. A learning portfolio is where reflection and documentation (or the artifacts) combine with collaboration or conversations about learning. The use of a blog as a reflective journal can be a powerful learning portfolio.
